Tuesday, we headed out to meet our new pediatrician. This year our health insurance changed, therefore we had to change providers for the best cost effective coverage.
Anyways, after dropping Walker at school and getting Hunter to preschool we were off. Colter and I along with my little friend Aubrey who is nearing 10 months I believe (I babysit every Tuesday, get my little girl fix!) We packed up and headed to the doctors to have Coley's 2 year check-up. The couple nights before he was waking up at night, crying - which is so unlike him, that I was pretty convinced he had an ear infection, so I'm glad we had this appointment and I could get him all checked out.
Here are his latest stats: weighs in at 25 lbs and is 33 inches tall.
He is right on for all his fine motor, social, verbal and sleeping goals! He's one healthy happy boy.
The doctor was amazed how happily he followed instructions, let her look in his ears, listen to his heart - all the while with a huge smile. Mama's instincts were right, he did have an ear infection in his left ear. So, he was started on antibiotics and we are on day three of meds and he is feeling much better. He also had to get 4 immunization shots and oh baby those hurt. He could hardly walk the next morning. "Owee, Mama!" he cried, all morning. I'm so thankful for Children's Advil, in a few hours he was back to his happy self.
This is one of my favorite pictures of Colter this week. Just had to share!
This blog is dedicated to my three very busy boys - Walker, Hunter and Colter. I journal here, so I can remember all the fine details and memories made of what it is like to be your Mother.

Party Hearty!
We celebrated Colter's 2nd birthday this past Friday. I still can't believe that my baby is two! Gosh, he is so cute!
I am so thankful for my extended family. I'm extremely blessed with such awesome parents and lots of siblings who I love and adore. Our days are numbered here in Billings together. Come this spring my parents are moving to Washington state! Makes me a little weepy, okay a lot weepy thinking about it. So, any opportunity I have to get together with them, I'm jumping on it! No different with Coley's birthday - so we packed up and headed to Nana and Papa's house to have a party.
I love getting together with my enormous family, all the dynamics in personalities, the kids running and screaming, the noise of many conversations taking place, laughter that echoes. It feels like home. I'm sure my poor husband feels like he is thrown into a zoo, which at times isn't far from the truth. But, I love it. Love the craziness of it all.
We had pizza and some very colorful cupcakes that I did not make. Hunter was our entertainment, he sure is our little comedian. Oh man, I have my work cut out for me. He makes my heart smile...a lot. We enjoyed conversation, good food and great company. It was such a blessing to celebrate our sweet baby boy. Here are a few pictures, enjoy!

Happy Birthday Mr. Sunshine
Today is the day my sweet baby, Colter James, entered the world two years ago. Our home has been made warm and fuzzy with the addition of this little man's sweet personality. I can't help but look at him every day and think to myself, "there is no way you could get any cuter" but somehow, he does. Not only does he bring a smile to my face a bagillion times a day, he lights up any room he walks into. He is such a blessing to our family and I cannot imagine our lives without him.
Coley's 2 year well-child check up is next week. So I'll have his "official" stats then. But in the mean time, here is Colter's year in review:
He is generally a good natured little one who tends to go with the flow, smile lots and still likes to cuddle, ohhh that makes my heart happy!
Dear Colter,
You are genuinely the sweetest, most beautiful two year little boy in my book. You have blessed our family beyond measure with your gentle spirit. You light up our lives and remind me daily of unconditional love. I count myself blessed to be your Mama and look forward to all your new milestones this year. I pray that Jesus would protect you and soften and mold your heart in His timing and will. You are fearfully and wonderfully made little one. I love you so much, Happy Birthday!
Love,
Mama

- He walks on his knees with amazing form.
- His vocabulary continues to grow, some favorite words: snack, milk, noey (no), puke, poop, I love you and nigh, nigh (night, night), okay, gosh and ceweal (cereal)
- He sleeps all night in his own bed from 7pm to 6am.
- Took his first trip to the ER for 4 stitches on his sweet little forehead.
- He takes one nap a day from 10:30am-1:30pm.
- Finally walks on his FEET at 19 months!
- He eats just about anything, except peaches.
- Loves to read books and likes to sing songs and dance.
He is generally a good natured little one who tends to go with the flow, smile lots and still likes to cuddle, ohhh that makes my heart happy!

Colter - 9 Months

I know I am a day early, but I better write this post while I have the time. Colter will be 9 months old tomorrow. Can I say wow! I can't believe that 9 months have gone by already! So he has officially become the "third" child. His baby book is empty, he has not had his 6 months check up, yes I said 6 month check up. I have fallen a wee bit behind. BUT I have kept up with pictures. I do all my photo albums on Shutterfly and he is up to date so far. So he may not have a complete baby book, but he will have plenty of pictures to look back upon.
I can't even really post to much about stats cause I really don't even know. I think he is around 20 lbs now, maybe a bit more. He is growing and growing. He has kept that same laid back attitude he's had all along. Just content to chill.
Colter is starting to really turn over and enjoy tummy time. He has been able to roll back to front for awhile, he just never did. But now he is making it more part of his routine.
He has NO interest in food. I've tried lots of different things and he is just not having it. I'm not too worried he is not lacking calories if you know what I mean. I will keep trying different foods and eventually I am sure he will pick up on the food thing. He eats about 4-6oz of formula every 3 hours during the day. We have him on soy-based formula, he just seems to do better. He gets 2tsp Karo syrup twice a day to keep him regular.
He is sleeping through the night most nights. Colter goes to bed about 7:30pm and sleeps till 7am If he does wake during the night, I feed him and he is off to sleep right after. He is still napping twice a day 9am - 11am and 2:30pm-4pm. Yay for naps!
He is just starting to sit up with some assistance, he is really not that motivated. We have been working with him for the last couple of months and he is getting better but he still cannot sit alone. We have been putting him in his Exersaucer to help develop some muscle tone. He does pretty well, he just lifts his feet up, like refusing to touch the ground. It's a bit funny!
Oh and yes we have 1 lil tooth poppin through on the bottom! Just saw it yesterday!
Colter is like I said a great baby! He is just happy all the time, he really is never fussy. It has really been a blessing. He travels great, he loves his binky, smiles all the time and just adds so much happiness to out lives.
Here are some of my favorite pictures of Colter this past month.

Colter 6 Months
When I sit and think about how much time has gone by, that my baby will really only be a baby for just a short time longer, it makes me a little sad. I just love babies! I love holding them, rocking them, feeding them, bathing them, smelling them, dressing them, shopping for them, pretty much I love it all. I feel so fortunate because I really have enjoyed Colter, don't get me wrong I loved Walker and Hunter too, it's just that Colter is so content and happy and such a low maintenance baby that I feel like I have all the time in the world to just cuddle and love on him and it's not out of necessity, I can because I just want to.
Colter is now a whopping 16lbs 6oz and he is 24 inches long. He is rolling over from tummy to back consistently and almost rolls from back to tummy. He really does not like "tummy time" so it is hard to get him to roll over to his tummy. He loves his Baby Einstein Play mat, he just laughs and shakes things. He grasps his toys well, he will reach for an object if he wants it. He chews on his fist/fingers. Big drooler. Still no teeth. He sleeps GREAT, he takes 2 naps a day. He has not eaten a thing for me, we've just tried cereal and he was not having it. So, his little chubby face tells me he is growing just fine, he will eat soon enough, I'm in no hurry.
Walker and Hunter are wonderful to Colter. They love to make him laugh, they are such good brothers, makes me a proud Momma!
